WelcomeWelcome to the North Texas Irish Festival - the largest Celtic Festival in the Southwest. This event is produced by the Southwest Celtic Music Association, a 501(c) Corporation based in Dallas, TX. For 22 years the SCMA's North Texas Irish Festival has been a March tradition in Fair Park. The Festival features some of the finest in Irish and Scottish entertainment, including world famous musicians, award winning dancers, enchanting storytellers and educational workshops. Don't worry about the weather - it will be mild and dry - plus almost all of our event is INDOORS anyway. The Irish know how to deal with a little cold weather! Sean Laffey of Irish Music Magazine will be our guest at NTIF 2005 and is already planning on a number of articles for this internationally acclaimed publication. Randy Mallory of Texas Highway Magazine featured the NTIF in his December article, Sounds Across Texas: Music Fests. "Thanks to deep musical roots, Texas boasts more annual live music festivals than you can shake a drumstick at. These “sounds extravaganzas” cover nearly every musical genre—from blues to bluegrass, country to classical, polka to punk, and rock to reggae." NTIF headliner Jed Marum will be a featured on KHYI, The Range radio broadcast from Bill's Records in Dallas on Mar 4 with the band playing the North Texas Irish Festival. They call their format Texas Ameircana, and play quite a bit of Bluegrass including another headliner Tim O'Brien.
